Sono Sarah, grazie mille Federica per avermi ospitata…Amo scoprire un po’ l’Italia ed il tuo blog è assolutamente pieno di belle cose!

A little bit more about me…I live in a sweet old town by the sea on the beaches in Australia, with my three Beach Cottage Kiddos and one lovely husband. We surf through life in our tatty old fixer-upper cottage with surfboards on the deck, old weathered furniture and lots of sandy feet around…I love all things pretty and vintage…that old faded patina that only time can bring gets me every time…so I spend my days scouring the beaside suburbs for vintage treasure, painting things white and playing decorating.

Qualcosa di più su di me…Vivo in una dolce vecchia cittadina sulle spiagge del mare Australiano, con i miei tre bambini ed il mio amato maritino. Ci godiamo la vita nel nostro piccolo cottage tra tavole da surf, vecchi mobili ed un sacco di sabbia tutto intorno…amo tutte le cose belle e vintage, con quella vecchia patina sbiadita che solo il tempo puo’ lasciare sugli oggetti. Per questo passo le mie giornate alla ricerca di tesori vintage, ripitturando tutto di bianco e divertendomi nel decorarli.

So, when Federica asked me about a nice summer guest post while she kicks back from her blog and lazes around on holiday it got me to thinking about summer here at my cottage…it made me think of wide open doors, a lovely breeze coming in through the windows, bare feet and sunhats lying around…and I love that casual laid-back vibe and it’s exactly the beach house ambiance I try and capture in my old cottage.

Così quando Federica mi ha chiesto un guest post mentre lei si prende una pausa dal blog e si gode le vacanze, ho iniziato a pensare all’estate qui nel mio cottage…penso a grandi porte aperte, una piacevole brezza che entra dalle finestre, piedi scalzi e cappelli per il sole sparsi qua e là…amo quell’atmosfera rilassata di mare che cerco di ricreare nel mio cottage.

You see, I always dreamed of a tumble-down house by the sea and now I live in an old cottage a short hop from the ocean, my life, with the wonderful Australian climate, is full of those summery kinda things and the things I dreamed of – coastal breezes, old wooden floors, whitewashed furniture, easy living and scattered shells.

And with all that comes I guess summer decorating and for me means bright flowers, combined with vintage finds, a nautical stripe or two, plus whitewashed furniture and a few shells.

Vedete, ho sempre sognato una casa a picco sul mare ed ora vivo in un vecchio cottage a due passi dal mare, la mia vita, con lo splendido clima Australiano, è piena di quel genere di cose estive e che ho sempre sognato, la brezza del mare, vecchi pavimenti in legno, mobili candidamente dipinti, strisce in stile nautico, ancora mobili bianchi e qualche conchiglia.

I just love this all too easy Coastal Chic look and it’s a perfect and accessible way to get a little bit summery and a little bit beachy!

I love how the light changes in the summer and using old vintage glass dotted around captures this beautifully so I am always on the lookout for old bottles and glass things while I am out treasure hunting at flea markets…gathered together on a coffee table…a grouping of vintage bottles and a simple bunch of summer flowers ….I love the pop of colour to brighten everything up and bring the outside in!

Amo lo stile Coastal Chic ed è un perfetto ed accessibile modo per ottenere quel look un po’ estivo ed un po’ da spiaggia.

Mi piace la luce che c’è durante l’estate e così uso vecchie bottigliette sparse per la casa per catturarla. Per questo motivo sono sempre alla ricerca di piccoli tesori nei mercatini delle pulci…amo le bottigliette riunite tutte su un tavolino, oppure vecchie bottiglie da riempire con fiori freschi…mi piace quel tocco di colore che illumina tutto l’mabiente e porta l’esterno dentro casa!

I also like to display things I might find beachcombing ‘round here…shells tumbled by the sea and washed up on the beach displayed here and there makes for a relaxed feel – but you don’t have to live by the beach to find them 😉

Mi piace disporre per casa cio’ che trovo in spiaggia…conchiglie che trovo sulla spiaggia e che spargo qua e là per dare una sensazione rilassata all’ambiente. Ma non dovete necessariamente vicino alla spiaggia per trovarle 😉
