Etsy Shop full of lovely and girly things! As usual below my little interview.
Could you tell us a little about your shop?
My shop consists of feminine, vintage inspired pieces that are fun to wear! Many of the items can be mixed and matched and I definitely think my love of all things floral and frilly comes through. I also have a vintage selection consisting of hand picked pieces that I find particularly quirky and unique.
How did you get started making your lovely jewelry?
I have an art degree from years ago but don’t utilize my creative skills in my everyday job. I decided I needed a more concrete creative outlet if I was going to be happy, so I decided to start making jewelry. I had taken classes in jewelry making and I really enjoyed manipulating metal but decided that costume jewelry was more appropriate for my current schedule and time limitations.
Any advice for friends who are wanting to start their own shop?
I would definitely recommend doing your research and finding a platform that suits your needs whether it be an independant online shop, craft fairs, or a crafting community like Etsy. Always remember to believe in yourself first and to value your own work and others will follow suite. Be realistic about what how much time you have and what you’re capable of producing and then push your own boundaries. I suppose that’s true for all things in life, if you don’t push yourself, you won’t grow.
